| Created
in 1984 by executives working in the field of international banking, the
International Bankers Club of Montreal became The International Finance
Club of Montréal in 1992.
This modified the corporation’s objectives and enabled greater access to Club membership to include non-bankers. The corporation’s chief objectives are : |
| 1.Financial
community promotion of the professionals activities of persons interested
in international business and finance;
2. Consolidation of Montréal’s place on the international finance stage; 3. Establishment of relations with other Québec, Canadian or foreign companies or groups interested in business and international finance; 4. Encouragement of the development of new activities of a financial nature in Montréal and, consequently, increasing the volume of business here. |
| The
Club
has more than 150 members.
The Club has organised a large number of luncheon talks since 1992, where distinguished speakers have dealt with international finance. The
Club
is not a substitute for existing chambers of commerce but rather plays
a complementary role. Our activities are aimed at a targeted clientele
and generally interest 100 or more participants. The Club
facilitates networking and the exchange of ideas among its members.
The Club has innovated by associating with other organizations for joint
activities. This has allowed links and alliances to be formed with

| The Board
of Directors of the Finance Club is composed of business
people who are very active in the Montréal financial community.
The
university milieu interests us as does the diplomatic world. We eagerly
seek to develop relations with those people for the mutual benefit of our
members and of our communities. Facilitating economic alliances of
all kinds is important. Our activities have already been participated
in by the United Kingdom, French, Japanese, Spanish, Mexican, Belgian,
and Russian Federation, Chilean consulates as well as the Netherlands,
and Austrian consuls.
